I have heard rave reviews about this online application that allows people to log in and create their avatars and communicate via the web. I think there is a huge flaw with this. I don't think people notice that an online voice is completely different from a personal voice. As I am writing this post, I can basically write anything . That's the same concept with Second Life. Behind the screen, individuals have little shame or embarrassment because they are not talking face to face with another person.
I feel that if people continue to avidly use the program that when they meet in public, they will not know how to be their selves. Maybe it's a good thing, that you can be a different person online, as to being in the real world. But I just prefer to talk to you in person and not look at your avatar on my screen. Just my opinion.

Ok, sure, I prefer meeting in person, so far. I'm saying this because to tell you the truth, I have NOT tried something like Second Life before. Personally, in order for me to decide whether or not I like the idea of a virtual world would take me some time...
Hi Boris !
What you said, I mean what your online voice said :) is so true!
I'm a Second Life "newdie" and I'm style trying to find my style -or should I say myself? Sounds too scary- as an avatar!
So far, I'm not so impressed with second people in SL ! I only met a few of them but since they are in a virtual world, they figure they're just in a game, they are playing and they are the only real person. So they can talk to you and then fly away when they are tired. And I don't even see how you could possibly hang out with a "SL friend"... By standing next to each other while having a cup of coffee in front of your respective computers...? So warm!
I think I am going to have to be talked into this whole concept... !
HI boris
I like your opinion. virtual life is just virtual life which is not real. I had a close friend but only in the online, but when we met in person, it was really awkward. Because the conversation and meeting in online was a lot different from real life.
sometimes I think that I would like to get out of relationships with people and take my time but, I even still have to concern about the relationship with people at home.
